Short description

The Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology IGB develops and optimizes processes, technologies, and products for health, sustainable chemistry and the environment. The Fraunhofer IGB Straubing branch BioCat has know-how in the bioconversion of renewable resources and applied research on technical biopolymers.

The primary focus of Fraunhofer IBP’s work is on research & development, testing, demonstration and consulting in the various specialist areas of building physics.

The Fraunhofer ICT focuses on the scalability of processes and the transfer of research results from laboratory scale to pilot plant scale and in some cases to pilot-level application. It carries out carry out research and development on chemical processes, energy systems, explosive technology, drive systems, polymer technology and composite materials.

The Fraunhofer IMW is focusing on issues of value creation, competitiveness, and sustainable development in an increasingly internationalized knowledge economy. Together with its clients in both public institutions and the private sector, Fraunhofer IMW develops innovation strategies, knowledge and technology transfer systems, and policy instruments for decision makers to foster and speed up the implementation of new technologies.
