Approach
Expected Outcomes
The project contributes to enacting the Thai plastic waste management road map 2018-2030 that promotes the large-scale utilization of biobased and biodegradable plastics and thus use and reduce marine plastic debris. Bioplastic has been identified as a key material to replace fossil-based plastic materials. Furthermore, the project contributes to the establishment of Thailand’s Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) economy strategy. In addition, it addresses the implementation of UN Sustainable Goals SDG9 (Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and production) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). It also aligns with the National BioEconomy Strategy of Germany and the European action plan “A European Strategy for Plastics in a Circular Economy” and supports the implementation of the German National Strategy of Bioeconomy 2030 as well as the Strategy for the Internationalisation of Education, Science and Research of the Federal Government – developed by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
