The NSTDA is the largest government research agency in Thailand. It supports research in science and technology and its application in the Thai economy. Lignoplas is a cooperation with NSTDA-department National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC).

The Chulalongkorn University (CU) is a top flagship institution in Thailand. The university has committed to meeting the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) via policy and operation, research, and innovation, teaching and learning, as well as outreach and engagement. One of the efforts to become a sustainable university includes reducing waste from single-use or disposable plastics and replacing them with biodegradable plastics.

The Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment, KMUTT is an excellent center specializing in advanced research in energy and environmental technologies. JGSEE has set up a joint research laboratory with BIOTEC on integrated biorefinery that focuses on valorization of renewable carbon using multi-disciplinary technology. JGSEE will take part in study on pretreatment of the lignin raw materials by catalytic depolymerization and characterization of the lignin used as substrates in this project.
