BIOTEC Researcher Awarded Prestigious Networking Grant by the Academy of Medical Sciences, UK

Dr. Chitwadee Phithakrotchanakoon, Researcher from the Thailand Bioresource Research Center (TBRC), has been awarded the prestigious Networking Grant of GBP 25,000 by the Academy of Medical Sciences.

This one-year project, titled “Establishing a Thailand-UK Partnership on the Production of Innovative Bioproducts from Microbial Bioresources and Fungal Platforms,” is a collaboration with Professor Colin Robinson from the University of Kent, UK. The project aims to forge a strong partnership between BIOTEC and The Kent Fungal Group (KFG) while enhancing research capabilities in microbial applications for producing proteins and other high-value bioproducts.

Key activities in this collaboration include a study trip to KFG, where BIOTEC researchers will participate in a two-week intensive training on developing fungal platforms and discuss further potential collaboration. There will be an international workshop in Thailand, focusing on microbial resources and fungal platforms. This event will foster knowledge exchange among participants and speakers and lay the foundation for future collaborations through a networking consortium.

Stay tuned for more updates as this innovative partnership unfolds, bringing groundbreaking research and opportunities in microbial biotechnology to the forefront.
