On December 16, 2025 – BIOTEC welcome delegates from the Sweden Embassy in Thailand, led by Mr. Per Linnér, Deputy Head of Mission and Ms. Chotikarn Jeanguenin, Trade officer, along with Mr. Prasit Sriadsadawutthakul, Vice president Food & Water, Ms. Ramida Chaiyasut, Head of Cluster Marketing SEA & Ocenia, and Mr. Wirush Assawanadda, Sales Director from Alfa Laval (Thailand) Ltd..
They were greeted by Dr. Kobkul Laoteng, Deputy Executive Director of BIOTEC, , following by briefing overview of iIndustrial bBioprocess tTechnology and bBiorefinery pPilot pPlant at ECCi by Dr. Panit Kitsubun, Director of Industrial Bioprocess Technology Research Team (IIBT).
The discussion focused on potential collaboration across the full biorefinery value chain, including biorefinery process development, bioprocessing and scale-up technologies, technology transfer, and the use of translational research facilities at EECi. Operational modalities for collaboration were also discussed, such as site visits to the EECi campus and joint workshops to identify and further explore areas of mutual interest.
The visiting delegates toured the BIOTEC Bioprocessing Facility (BBF), Dr. Chanikul Chutrakul given overview about BBF’s milestones. BBF is a key infrastructure supporting microbial utilization research. The facility serves as a pilot-scale production platform for evaluating technological feasibility and ensuring a smooth transition from laboratory-scale research to industrial-scale application.
This visit was an important opportunity to introduce the roles and functions of BIOTEC and EECi, paving the way for future collaboration among entrepreneurs and various organizations.
