On 14 June 20, 2024 Brazil Cassava Growers’ delegation from the State of Parana, Brazil led by Mr. Rogerio Cezar Molin, Director, Br3 alimentos – Ind e Com Farinha Ortiz, Alto Paraná and Ms. Ana Carolina Miranda Lami, Agricultural Attache, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, Bangkok visited National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). The delegates were greeted by Dr. Nitsara Karoonuthaisiri, Acting Deputy Executive Director of BIOTEC and Dr. Warinthorn Songkhasiri, Director of Biochemical Engineering and Systems Biology Research Group. The discussion was revolved around cassava cultivation technology.

They received a briefing by Dr. Oraprapai Gajanandana, Team Leader, Monoclonal Antibody Production and Application Research Team, Biosensing and Bioprospecting Technology Research Group on Diagnostic Technology for Cassava Mosaic Disease Detection and Dr. Alongkorn Amnuaykanjanasin, on Biocontrol Technology for Cassava Pests/Diseases.
On this occasion, the delegates visited Monoclonal Antibody Production and Application Research Facility and Biocontrol Technology Research Facility.
This visit could pave the way for expand potential collaboration on Cassava Technology to Southern American continent especially Brazil.
