TBRC is a cutting-edge facility that stands as one of the largest microbial and biomaterial repositories in the ASEAN region, with a collection nearing 100,000 strains. It serves as a cornerstone for fundamental biotechnological research, facilitating the utilization of microorganisms in both academic and industrial settings, and advancing the BCG bio-based economy.
Led by Dr. Kuakoon Piyachomkwan, Deputy Executive Director at BIOTEC, and distinguished researchers from TBRC, the press tour highlighted TBRC’s pivotal role in preserving microbial and biomaterial diversity while providing essential technical services. With its comprehensive suite of services, TBRC is poised to revolutionize health, agricultural, and environmental sectors by harnessing the power of microbial applications.
